Privacy policy
Last updated 20 October 2026
The short version.
- Trivolve has no ads and no accounts, and never tracks you.
- To make the game better, the app sends anonymous information about how puzzles are played, and reports when it crashes. None of it identifies you. You can turn both off in Settings with “Help improve Trivolve”.
- We never sell data and never share it with advertisers.
- Purchases, leaderboards, achievements and cloud save go through Apple or Google, under their own privacy policies. We never see your payment details, and we never receive your saved games.
This policy covers the Trivolve app for iPhone, iPad and Android, and this website.

What the app sends us
How the game is played
The app sends short, anonymous notes about play: for example, that a puzzle was solved, in how many moves and how long it took, where in the tutorial a player stopped, which settings are in use, and that the full game was bought (never the price or any payment details). We use them to find puzzles that are too hard, parts of the tutorial that confuse people, and bugs.
Each note also carries the platform, the operating system version, the app version, the device model, the language the app is showing, and whether the device is a phone or a tablet, held upright or sideways.
To count how many different players do something, the app makes a random number when it is installed. It is scrambled (“hashed”) on your device before it is sent, and scrambled again by our analytics provider, so it can’t be traced back to you or your device. It is not an advertising ID or any identifier of your device, and reinstalling the app makes a new one.
Crash reports
When the app crashes or freezes, it sends a technical report: what the app was doing, the screen it was on, the app and operating system versions, and the device model. Reports also tell us how often the app runs without crashing. Crash reports never include your name, an account, your IP address or anything you typed.
Turning it off
Both are on unless you switch them off. Open Settings in the app and turn off “Help improve Trivolve”: from that moment the app sends nothing more, about play or crashes. Everything else in the game works the same.
What the app never collects
- Your name, email address, phone number or any account.
- Your location, precise or rough, your country, your time zone or your IP address.
- Advertising IDs or any identifier that follows you across apps.
- Your contacts, photos, files, messages, microphone or camera.
- Your browsing or search history.
- Payment details or health information.
The daily reminder
If you choose to, the app can remind you once a day that a new daily puzzle is waiting. It only does this if you turn the reminder on and allow notifications when your phone asks. The reminder is set on your device and shown by your device: nothing is sent to us or to any server to make it work. You can turn it off in the app’s settings, or turn off Trivolve’s notifications in your device’s settings, at any time.
Your game stays on your device
Your progress, scores and settings are saved on your device. We don’t receive them.
Apple and Google
Some features use services from Apple and Google. They handle that data under their own privacy policies, not ours.
- Purchases. Buying the full game goes through the App Store or Google Play. They handle the payment; we only learn that the full game is unlocked on your device.
- Leaderboards and achievements. If you sign in to Game Center (Apple) or Google Play Games (Google), your scores and achievements are sent to your account there. The leaderboards you see in the app show players’ names and scores as Apple or Google provide them. We don’t store them.
- Cloud save. Your progress is copied to your own iCloud account (Apple) or to Google Play Games’ saved games (Google), so it follows you to your other devices. We can’t read it.
See Apple’s privacy policy and Google’s privacy policy.
Who handles the data for us
Two companies process the play notes and crash reports on our behalf, only to provide their service to us, under data processing agreements. Both store the data in the European Union.
| Company | What | Where it is stored |
|---|---|---|
| TelemetryDeck GmbH, Germany (privacy) | Anonymous play notes | EU (Germany and the Netherlands) |
| Functional Software, Inc., trading as Sentry, USA (privacy) | Crash reports | EU (Frankfurt, Germany) |
Sentry is a US company. If its staff outside the EU ever need to access crash reports, for example to keep the service running, that access is protected by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
Crash reports are deleted automatically after 90 days at most. Play notes are deleted after 2 years.
Our legal basis
For people in the EU and the UK: we process play notes and crash reports because we have a legitimate interest in finding bugs and making the game better, as Article 6.1.f of the GDPR allows. We’ve kept that data anonymous, and you can stop it at any time with “Help improve Trivolve”.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data about you, to object to how it is used, and to complain to a data protection authority. In Spain, that is the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos.
Because the data we receive doesn’t identify you, we usually can’t find which of it is yours. The simplest way to stop it is to turn off “Help improve Trivolve”, and deleting the app removes everything it saved on your device. For data held by Apple or Google, use their privacy settings. For anything else, write to support@trivolve.app.
Children
Trivolve is a game for everyone, children included. It has no ads, no chat and no accounts, and it collects no personal information from anyone, so there is nothing a parent needs to consent to.
This website
trivolve.app uses no cookies, no analytics and no trackers. It is hosted on GitHub Pages; GitHub may log visitors’ IP addresses to keep the service secure (GitHub’s privacy statement).
Changes
If we change what the app collects, we’ll update this page and the date at the top before the change reaches the app.
